Privacy Policy

This policy describes how Jinbay Co., Ltd. ("we", "us") handles information in connection with the Cachalot app and related web services (the "Service").
1. What we do not collect — by design
The defining property of the Service is that the following data is processed and stored only on your device. We do not collect it and have no means of accessing it:
- meeting audio recordings;
- transcripts;
- AI-generated meeting notes;
- content you create in the app, such as glossaries and custom instructions.
2. What we collect

| Usage statistics (optional) | Only if you explicitly opt in inside the app, we receive the name of an event and the week it happened (for example “first meeting notes generated / week 35 of 2026”). No recordings, transcripts, meeting notes, file names or meeting titles are included, and no device or install identifier is created. The events are limited to: first launch, first recording, first meeting notes, hitting the storage limit, upgrading, and each time meeting notes are generated. You can change this any time from the menu bar (off by default). |

3. How we use information
- providing paid plans and managing subscription status;
- responding to support inquiries;
- sending product updates to subscribers (opt-in, unsubscribe anytime);
- preventing fraud and abuse.
4. Sharing
We do not share personal information with third parties without your consent, except as required by law. Stripe (payments) and Vercel (hosting) process data on our behalf as described above.
5. Retention
Account data is retained while your account exists and as required by law. You can delete your account yourself from the app’s Account panel; doing so also cancels any active subscription immediately. Billing records are retained by our payment processor for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
6. Cookies and analytics
This website uses no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking. We measure page views and loading performance with Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights, which are cookieless and do not identify individual visitors — we only see aggregates such as which locale’s page the download button was clicked from.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time using the contact below.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this website.
